Adoptees’ DNA is not a match for 2 families in Argentina

Just wanted to pass along an update to a story I had discussed before. The DNA testing ethical and legal quandary that was created by the situation in Argentina–where some adopted children had been trying to prevent their DNA from being tested and possibly matched to families with missing relatives–has been resolved in the first stage. For now:
DNA tests on Argentine publisher’s adopted children shows no match with 2 victims’ families
This is based on the data that is currently available for these 2 families that were compared, apparently. But this isn’t the end. The search now moves on to a larger database of DNA samples from additional families.
This is a story that really challenges me. The children’s right to autonomy of their own DNA vs. the rights of the families who were victimized. It really highlights a lot of issues that we’ll have to face in this new era.
